(YARDLEY, PA) Global Systems Technologies, Inc (GST) has been awarded a task order to provide Configuration Management (CM) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) support to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This task order has an $11.7 million ceiling and was awarded for a one-year base period with the potential for TSA to exercise four additional option years.
This task order was issued under GST’s Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Professional Engineering and Logistics Support Services (PELSS). In April 2010, TSA issued two IDIQ contracts for PELSS for a combined total ceiling price of $100 million. The PELSS contractors support five programs at TSA: electronic baggage screening, passenger screening, security technology integration, advanced surveillance technology, and air cargo.
GST President Achintya Bhattacharjee stated “GST has been in security R&D and certification of threat detection systems for many years. PELSS now allows us to support multiple TSA programs in the integration, deployment, and on-going support of operational systems.”
GST, a nationally recognized leader in aviation security, has supported the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Homeland Security for over fifteen years. GST currently supports Homeland Security R&D, testing of explosives trace detection equipment, and development-stage testing for next generation passenger screening portals. Related products developed and manufactured by GST include explosive simulants and simulated IED training kits used in training Federal Air Marshals and Transportation Security Officers to identify explosive threats.
