(YARDLEY, PA June, 2013) Global Systems Technologies (GST) of Yardley, PA has been awarded a one-year with four (4) one-year option periods, $3.6 million contract by the Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL) – a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Laboratory located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.
This award continues GST’s 20-year role supporting laboratory operations at the TSL. One task under the Contract is to provide precisely diluted samples of explosive materials to serve as “standards” to support the development and testing of bulk and trace explosive detection systems. The second is to produce high fidelity simulated explosives and to build them into “test articles” to test how effectively the various man-machine combinations can detect threats through various concealment scenarios.
According to GST President, Achintya Bhattacharjee, “GST has been supporting advances in aviation/transportation security for the FAA and DHS since the laboratory opened in 1993. The Company’s roles have also included R&D, development-stage testing for next generation passenger screening portals, and certification testing of explosive trace detection equipment.”
Under a related Professional Engineering and Logistics Support Services contract with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), GST provides configuration management and logistics support for all the TSA’s security equipment and configuration management for TSA-approved Cargo Screening equipment.
GST also has information technology support contracts with the TSL and the US Navy, Army, and Air Force. GST headquarters are in Yardley, PA with offices in Absecon, NJ and Crystal City, VA.
