(YARDLEY, PA May, 2018) – Global Systems Technologies (GST) of Yardley, PA has been awarded a 3.3 million dollar five-year contract by the Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL) – a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Laboratory located at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.
This award continues GST’s 25-year role supporting Laboratory operations at the TSL in providing development of precision explosive standards to support and testing of trace explosive detection systems.
With this award, GST’s total contract backlog now stands in excess of $100 million.
According to GST President, Achintya Bhattacharjee, “GST has been supporting advances in aviation/ transportation security for the FAA and DHS since 1990. The Company’s roles have included R&D, development-stage testing for next-generation passenger screening portals, and certification testing of explosive detection equipment.”
Besides TSL support, GST also provides Professional Engineering and Logistics Support Services to TSA’ s Office of Security Capabilities (OSC). This role includes engineering support for acquisition management, technology evolution, systems architecture, baggage handling systems, and deployment of new security technologies. It also includes configuration management and logistics support for all of the TSA’s security equipment and configuration management for TSA-approved Cargo Screening equipment.
